At BotFeeder we have a well equipped 3D printing studio with a lot of popular 3D printers. We know our materials will give you excellent results and to help you get these results here are tips and trick for using BotFeeder 3D printing filament.


This profile is optimized based on UFO 3D Printer. A good reference point of where to start.

Resolution: 0.10 mm
Extrusion temperature: 250 C
Print bed temperature: 110 C
Print speed: 65 mm/sec (default speed)
Adhesion type: brim
Retraction distance: 4.5 mm
Retraction speed: 100 mm/sec
Prime: no
Support infill: 15%
Support pattern: zig zag
Support angle: 50 degree
Dense support layer: 2
Dense Infill: 60%
Upper separation layer: 1 to 2 (or 0.20 mm)
Lower separation layer: 1 to 2 (or 0.20 mm)


Printing Notes

  1. Extrusion Temperature: 250 to 260C
  2. Print Bed Temperature: 110 to 120C
  3. If you are printing white at 250C, black will require ~5 degree more.
  4. Let print bed cool down to room temperature before removing your print.
  5. Must print with heated print bed.
  6. Works great on glass platform, PEI, blue tape, buildtak, and kapton tape.
  7. Adhesion solution: hair spray, ABS juice, and glue stick
  8. If wrapping occurs, print using raft.
  9. Enclosure improves print quality.
  10. First layer usually 5 to 10 C higher than subsequent layers.
  11. First layer usually print at 35mm/sec or slower.
  12. ABS absorbs heat and so benefits from additional active cooling.
  13. ABS adsorbs ~5% of moisture.  Un-used spool should store in container or plastic bag.
  14. Use Acetone to smooth out the print.
  15. Sand the print down with 300-grit sandpaper before acrylic painting.
  16. Longer life span compared to PLA.
  17. More flexible compared to PLA.

Raw Material

The premium ABS grade is selected based on providing engineering needs. All virgin ABS pellets are supplied by Chi Mei Corp. a globally well-known company manufactures polylac (ABS).


Natural Color Pigment

All color pigments are extracted from nature. NOT chemical engineered pigment.  During the process of 3D printing, you'll noticed a pleasant sweet scent in the air.


Filtration Treatment

Before production, all ABS pellets and color pigments undergo a filtration process to remove any larger particles that might clogged the nozzle during printing.


Anti-Moist Treatment

All raw materials have undergone dying treatment before production, as the practice of which prevents 'bubbles' occurrence during extrusion due to moisture content within the raw materials.

Diameter Control

An important machine in our production are the laser measurement systems used to check the diameter of our filament real time during production. It’s measured over 1000 times per second and helps us guarantee that each spool of BotFeeder 3d printing filament produced within tolerance. We can guarantee 0.03mm +/- on both 2.90mm and 1.75mm BotFeeder 3D Printer Filament, which means you can rest assured that your printer is extruding the exact amount of material.


Enhanced Spool Holder

In combination with a specially design spool and stronger material the BotFeeder spool is able to withstand the impact from dropping on the floor. From an in-house test, a typical 1kg spool of filament did not break/snap after 12 drops.


Vacuum Sealed Packaging

Within minutes of production a spool of BotFeeder 3d printing filament is wrapped with a protective film and then sealed airtight with a double barrier foil. To ensure minimal moisture, we upgraded to a large pack of desiccant.  To go the extra mile, we’ll also seal the fancy cardboard box that we use to ship our product. You can make sure BotFeeder 3d printing filament is fresh and ready for 3d printing when you’re done unboxing.

In-House Production

All BotFeeder 3D Printer Filaments are produced in our own production facility, situated in the Taiwan. Since no external parties are involved in the making of BotFeeder filament we can ensure consistent quality on every order.

Care

Storing Your Filament

Please note that improper storage may damage your filament. To maintain its original quality, it's strongly recommended that the filament be stored in the following conditions:

  • A dehumidifier cabinet or a dry and circulated area
  • Room temperature
  • Avoid direct sunlight or heat source

Selecting A Printer Location

Please note poor printer location will have a negative effect on your print result and possible of damaging your filament. To select the most ideal location for your printer, please follow this guide.

  • Consistent temperature
  • Stable air flow
  • Away from furniture for safety

Avoid Tangling Your Filament

When unpacking, changing filament or unloading, It is strongly suggested to get a good grip at the end of the filament at all times in order to prevent tangling. The spool holder is specifically designed with 2 holes of each side, allowing you to secure the end of the filament by threading into it. or you can simply 3D print a "Filament clip" that is attached to the spool holder itself.

If Filament Gets Damp

Dry it slowly in room temperature. Please note that heat drying the filament will damages its quality by making it become brittle. The preferred method of drying your filament is to put in a dehumidifier cabinet or in an airtight bag with a few packs of desiccants. It's recommended to maintain a humidity level of 25% or less.

Certifications

To take an extra step for your safety, BotFeeder 3D Printer Filaments are being tested on an annually basis by SGS. On top of that, all our filaments are manufactured in compliance of RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances).  Why is it important?  It basically means the filaments are free from lead and other potentially hazardous substances including cadmium, mercury and chromium VI, among others.
